A magnificent Kavi Sammelan Saurath Madhubani will be held on April 23, 2026, as part of the two-day cultural festivities celebrating the 11th Foundation Day of Mithila Chitrakala Sansthan. Organized by the Bihar Government’s Art and Culture Department, the event at Saurath, Madhubani, brings together the finest talents in poetry and folk music.

The second day’s cultural evening features a Virat gathering of poets, including the acclaimed Shri Priyanshu Gajendra and Shri Kamal Aagney. The audience will also be entertained by the sharp wit of Hasya poet Shri Shambhu Shikhar and the rhythmic verses of Shri Vikas Baukhala. Prior to the Kavi Sammelan, the evening will host a Natak (drama) presentation by the students of the institute and a musical session by Smt. Bandana Mishra.

The overall Samaroh kicks off on April 22 with an inauguration ceremony and performances by legendary folk singers Padma Shri Malini Awasthi, Shri Kunj Bihari Mishra, and Smt. Poonam Mishra. This celebration at the Mithila Chitrakala Sansthan stands as a significant initiative by the Bihar Government to preserve and celebrate local art and literature.
